by tuesday afternoon, from the “brown eyes,”
“And it seemed like when we were down on the bottom, everything bad was happening to us.”
“The way they treated you, you felt like you didn’t even wanna try to do anything.”
fuck.

“To me, it’s really so simple, that life should be lived on the edge. You have to exercise rebellion. To refuse to tape yourself to the rules, to refuse your own success, to refuse to repeat yourself, to see every day, every year, every idea as a true challenge. Then you will live your life on the tightrope.” – Philippe Petit
“Even if you are a minority of one, the truth is still the truth.”
-M.K. Gandhi

Glen Hansard’s passion and vulnerability during “Say It To Me Now” made him seem as large as the shadow he cast upon the wall of the Palace theater. Absolutely beautiful.

“I have no idea to this day what those two Italian ladies were singing about. Truth is, I don’t want to know. Some things are best left unsaid. I’d like to think they were singing about something so beautiful, it can’t be expressed in words, and makes your heart ache because of it. I tell you, those voices soared higher and farther than anybody in a gray place dares to dream. It was like some beautiful bird flapped into our drab little cage and made those walls dissolve away, and for the briefest of moments, every last man in Shawshank felt free.”
